Speaking Calendar, screen shots.
Here you can see Speaking
Calendar in operation. You can see the
MsAgent character `Max` to the right of the calendar, he's there to announce
any appointments,
or if you double click the calendar he will tell you the current date. You can
also see at the top, the date is shown to remind you what date it is. If Max, or
any other character gets in the way, you can set him to hide
and to only show when he's talking. If you have any appointments scheduled, you
will see the corresponding day shown in bold. Double Clicking
on the day will tell you how many
appointments are scheduled and offer you the chance to view them. If you don't
want to view them, then you will be asked whether you want to make
a new appointment for that day.
If your desktop is cluttered then
you may also hide the calendar,
which frees up your space and leaves the calendar running so that you will be
told of appointments and alarms that are due. This calendar is intended as a
desktop calendar, meaning that you leave it running all of the time. It takes up
little resources and can be covered by any other program you have running.

Now we have the appointment
manager, this is where you can review and add appointments. Whilst setting an
alarm or appointment, you have the option of requesting confirmation. This means
that when the announcement is about to be spoken to you, the user has to click
on OK to listen to it. Until this is done, a reminder box will be shown on the
screen. You may also make your appointment repeat itself hourly, daily, weekly,
monthly or yearly. Should you miss an appointment because your PC is turned off
or the calendar is not running, then you will be told of any old appointments
when the calendar starts up.
